Is bacteria bad for us?
Between antibacterial soaps, bacteria-killing cleaners and the like, bacteria gets a pretty bad rap. But we actually depend on them for our survival.
Most people don’t know that the human gut is a vast ecosystem. In fact, the human colon is the most densely populated microecology on Earth. Nothing on Earth is more densely populated with life than our colon.
The gut is like a rainforest — and like the rainforest, our guts are loaded with organisms — hundreds, even thousands, of different species of microbes— bacteria, fungi, protozoa, amoeba, even viruses. Most can be considered “good” or “bad,” but they all exist together, and are a natural part of our internal ecology, something we also call The Microbiome.
Similar to what can happen in a rainforest, an invasive species can take out an entire ecosystem and decimate native organisms for generations to come, sometimes creating irreparable damage.
Go back to videoThe same thing can happen in our gut— when invasive species grow out of control, the effects can be felt throughout the body. Gut manifestations include bloating, gas, skin rashes, fatigue, mental fog, excessive weight gain, insomnia, moodiness, and a whole lot more. Hard to believe, but it all comes from our gut.
Dr. David Kahana, board-certified gastroenterologist and medical nutrition specialist says he’s found the solution to better health.
Our gut microbiome has a massive impact on our entire body.
Besides being in charge of digestion and metabolism, including body weight, 70% of our immune system resides in our gut. When our gut is in balance, we’re better able to fight off allergies, colds, the flu, viruses, even skin irritations and rashes.
The gut also constantly communicates with our brain. We can feel gut imbalance by our energy level, sleep quality, concentration, and even our mood. All are negatively affected by an imbalanced gut.
So, let’s talk about what leads to gut imbalance.
Deep fried foods. Yes, they’re super tasty, but they do a real number on our microbiome.
You see, it’s not just calories that we’re eating, but fried food, especially those breaded with enriched flour, are loaded with chemicals that promote bad bacteria.
When we eat fried food, the bad bacteria that emerge and overpopulate our gut will manipulate our taste buds, and brain, into craving more fried food. This results in more and more bad bacteria in the gut, which can eventually crowd out the good bacteria and make us even sicker. Ever eat fast food after a long time and suddenly crave more of that same bad food? That’s bad bacteria manipulating our brain.
Food #2: Excess sugar. Sugar directly feeds bad bacteria in our gut. It helps the bad guys maintain control and leaves us feeling sick and craving more sugar. When we eat sugar, we are starving away healthy populations of beneficial bacteria. Plus, we are altering our metabolism and creating a hormonal imbalance. In plain language, sugar is the enemy.
And Food #3: Processed meats. Foods such as sausage, smoked ham, or even ground beef contain lots of salt, preservatives, nitrates, and antibiotics. These additives, preservatives, and antimicrobials are necessary to make processed meat palatable, but they can dramatically alter our gut microbiome and make us sick.
Of course it’s impossible to avoid these 3 foods altogether and even if you somehow managed to do so, there are still other factors beyond our control.
Take a banana, for example. It’s healthy, right?
Well, we’d have to eat 3 or 4 bananas today just to get the same amount of calcium as a single banana in our grandparents’ time.
And we’d have to eat 5 bananas to get the same amount of Vitamin A.
That’s a lot of bananas.
With the modern food industry, we’ve learned how to make a lot more food, but we’re sacrificing nutrition. I like to call that phenomenon “overfed and undernourished.”
So, how do we nourish our bodies and make sure the right bacteria are flourishing? How do we keep the bad bacteria at bay? And how can we still eat our favorite foods?
One great way to do it is with probiotics.
Probiotics add diversity to our microbiome, stimulate digestion, and help the immune system fend off invaders. Probiotics provide important information to our microecology that allows it to flourish. In that sense, they promote the ultimate balance in our gut ecology, just like a thriving rainforest.
This, in turn, impacts how we feel. When our gut is in balance, we feel healthy— we have strong vitality, good energy, glowing skin, flowing hair, better metabolism, a smaller waistline, less susceptibility to common colds or the flu, and, of course, better digestion.
And that’s where 1MD’s Complete Probiotics Platinum comes in. I helped formulate this product so I know that it’s great! Packed with 11 top-notch, clinically proven strains, a super high potency of 51 Billion colony forming units, prebiotic fuel to feed the probiotics, and the diversity necessary to make our gut ecology flourish.
Unfortunately, many of the probiotics on the market simply don’t work. They’re loaded with ineffective strains, have limited potency, lack diversity, and contain fillers which can actually cause more harm than good. Even if they don’t have fillers, most probiotics are simply not powerful enough to fight invasive bad bacteria and restore balance to our gut microbiome.
But 1MD’s Complete Probiotics Platinum isn’t just any ordinary probiotic. 1MD’s Complete Probiotics Platinum is the best probiotic product on the market. It’s manufactured right here in the USA at the best labs in the country, 3rd-party tested for purity and quality, backed by strong scientific evidence, and sourced from nature. Plus, you can rest assured that with our 90-day money-back guarantee, there’s really no risk at all.
If you want to experience the power of a one-a-day laboratory grade probiotic, this is your chance to revitalize your gut ecosystem and get on a path to full-on, total body health.
Our customers report more energy, better sleep, clearer skin, trimmer bellies, less brain fog, improved digestion, and no more running to the bathroom.
